“That actually makes a lot of sense. When I got there yesterday, after she allowed me to come into her office…”

“Wait, what do you mean allowed you?” Amber asked, cutting Megan off.

“Oh, that’s one of her things, and she does it with everyone. You have to knock, no matter if she’s busy or not. If that door is closed, which is always, you have to stand there and wait for her to tell you to come in. Then when you are allowed in, you have to stand and wait until she deigns to speak to you. Not that anyone told me that on my first day and I got reemed out like you would not believe.”

“Wow, that takes a special kind of person. So what happened today when you got granted permission to enter the castle?” Amber said with a slight eye roll.

“She was doing some kind of paperwork, she didn’t even look up. I swear I stood there for like a solid ninety seconds before I went to speak and she silenced me with her hand. I had to stand there, quietly, until she finished whatever she was doing before she addressed me. So I could totally see how she is dependent on the whole control aspect. I mean, even my charm isn’t working and I’ve been putting it on pretty good.”

“Well, there have been people immune to your charm. Look, some people in this world are just cold and bitchy, it’s in their blood. You can’t fix it, all you can do is try and work around it. So keep being your sweet and lovely self and then hopefully she will just get used to you. Who knows, maybe you’ll rub off on her.” Amber said with a shrug.

“Maybe. I gotta get Lola up and ready for school. I can’t be late again today or the Ice Queen is going to turn into the Dragon Lady and eat me.”

“Well if it’s the fun kind of eating there are worse ways to go,” Amber said with a flirty smile.

“Maybe that’s her problem. She needs a good lay to warm her up.” Megan giggled.

  “You should volunteer your services.”

“Oh, I doubt very much that she is gay.”

“You never know, she just might need the right persuasion. After all, aren't you her personal assistant?” Amber said with a wink before she turned and headed off to the bathroom.

Megan couldn’t help but shake her head. Even if Deborah was gay, Megan would bet every dollar she had that her pussy would freeze anything that came near it. Softly chuckling to herself, she began to wonder if she was curious, if she sort of liked how hard Deborah was on her. Deborah intrigued her. Deborah was beautiful and powerful, like the epitome of stylish femme power dyke.

Megan headed over to Lola’s room to get her ready for school. She was hoping it wouldn’t be too bad to get her up and dressed, but she knew it was going to be a challenge. If there was one thing Lola loved, it was her sleep. It had been a blessing when she was younger, but now that she was having to go to school it was quickly becoming a curse.

“Lola baby, you gotta get up,” Megan said, as she sat down on the edge of the bed.

Lola rolled around and groaned at being woken up. “No up, sleep,” she whined.

“I know baby, but you got school today. You can’t stay home, Mommy has to go to work. Come on baby, it won’t be so bad and tonight after school you can sleep as long and as much as you want.” Megan promised.

She got up and opened the blind, bringing the sunlight right into Lola’s room. Lola made a groan once again, but she at least sat up so Megan was taking it. She gathered clothes for Lola to wear and helped to get her very sleepy child dressed. Once she was all dressed it was time for her to go pee and then Megan did her hair. With Lola looking beautiful they headed off to the kitchen where Megan popped in some frozen waffles into the toaster while Lola sat at the small bistro table in the corner.

“Did you have fun at school yesterday baby?”

“It was ok. I like being home with you.”

“I know, me too baby. But Mommy has to work so we have a nice place to live and yummy food in our bellies. You’ll get used to school and before you know it you will love it. You’ll be upset when it’s the weekend,” Megan said with a warm smile as she brought the cut up waffles over to Lola.

“Never,” Lola said in her stubborn voice.

Megan knew better than to try and argue with that tone, so she left Lola eating so she could get ready herself. She was just finished putting her makeup on when she got an email from Lola’s school. Instantly her heart sank, the school had a pipe burst and it was closed down while repairs took place. They suspected it would be three days before the school could be reopened. Megan couldn’t stop the panic from taking over her. If Lola couldn’t go to school, there was nowhere else for her to go. She wasn’t old enough to stay here alone and Megan couldn’t take the time off from work to stay with Lola. If she worked at the diner, maybe she could switch enough shifts to make it work, but she couldn’t with this job. There was no one that could cover for her and Amber needed to work today just as badly as she did. They were both struggling with the rent each month.

Before Megan knew it, her eyes were flooding with tears and she was fighting to control her breathing. She didn’t know what to do. She had been struggling and fighting every single day since the moment that plus sign showed up on that test. She thought the guy she slept with would at least do the right thing and be there for Lola. She didn’t care to be with him, she didn’t need his love or his support. She just needed him to do the right thing and be there for Lola. Help her provide for her and be in her life. But instead she got told to have an abortion and leave him alone. She could have taken the easy way out, but she refused to give up her baby. She knew it was going to be hard, she knew she was going to be missing out on a lot of sleep, but she also knew when she looked at Lola’s innocent little face that it was all worth it.

For five years now she had been struggling to make the rent payment and be able to feed and clothe Lola. She had gone without food herself just so she could get that pack of diapers or can of formula. She had worked a hundred hours a week just to pay the bills. Working jobs where guys would grab her ass and she was treated like crap. She finally had the opportunity to get a real job, one which would enable her to care for Lola properly and that she could be proud to tell people about, and now it was looking like she was going to lose it. All because of a fucking pipe bursting.

Megan only allowed herself a few minutes to cry and freak out before she forced herself to stop. This wasn’t going to help her. She had to figure out what to do and the only thing she could think of was taking Lola with her to work. She knew Deborah had a busy day, maybe she could hide Lola behind her desk with some toys. It was a ridiculously long shot, but she could hope. Maybe it would be okay? If Deborah had an issue with it, then she would just tell her about the pipe and maybe tomorrow Amber would be able to switch shifts with someone so she could be home to watch her. If she showed up on time today and did an amazing job, then maybe that would please Deborah enough that she would overlook the fact that there was a five year old in her office. Or she was going to be fired right there on the spot in front of her daughter. Either way she had to go and just hope it wouldn’t be too bad.

Megan sat in her car outside the school and let out a long breath. She was early for once. The downside was her beautiful daughter sitting in her car seat next to her. Normally that wouldn’t be a downside, but it was in this situation. She had no idea how she was going to sneak Lola in and keep her a secret throughout the whole day. Even if she did by some miracle manage it, how the hell was she going to do it for another two days if Amber couldn’t swap shifts? Megan let out a long sigh, there was nothing she could do about it right now. For now, she had to get to work and just pray that her boss wasn't that big of a bitch to fire her in front of her daughter. Megan grabbed her purse and Lola’s backpack that was filled with things to entertain her with. She got out and got Lola out of her seat. They walked towards the main doors, while Megan spoke.

“Ok baby, remember that Mommy has to work today. I can’t play with you. I need you to play with your toys and color whi
le I am working. Then afterwards when we get home tonight we can play as long as you want. Deal?”

“Deal Mommy. I’ll be a good girl.” Lola said with a big toothy smile. Lola was delighted to going to work with her Mom.

Megan could only hope that this would go over well. They walked through the school and the halls were pretty empty, as it was still early. Megan quickly snuck Lola into her office and was glad that Kathy was not at her desk. She got Lola sitting down on the floor behind her desk with her backpack, while she quickly got herself sorted. She got a glimpse of Deborah before her door was opened and her boss was standing right there, skirt tight around her hips. An expensive white shirt tight and immaculately pressed.

“Good morning Ma’am. Did you have a good evening?” Megan asked with a friendly smile.

“Here is the list of what needs to be completed today before you leave.” Deborah said, handing over the list.

Megan took it with a warm smile. “I’ll make it happen.”

Deborah went to turn and head to her office, when she caught the face of a little girl poking out from behind Megan’s desk. Deborah turned to give the little girl her full attention. The very first thing she noticed was that she was enchanting. She had warm big dark eyes and messy wavy brown hair. She was very cute but she also didn’t belong here. Deborah turned around fully to give the little girl her attention. She looked exactly like Megan, but at the same time nothing like Megan with her caramel skin and dark eyes and hair. Megan seemed to catch on that something was going on. She looked down to see that Lola had poked her out of the side of her desk.

“I can explain,” Megan instantly said, as the panic was welling up inside of her.

“And what is your name?” Deborah asked Lola in a kind voice completely ignoring Megan.

The tone of her voice was a foreign one to Megan and she was surprised her voice was even capable of sounding that kind.

  “Lola. What’s you name?”

“My name is Deborah. How old are you?”

“Five.” Lola said, as she held up one hand.

“I’m sorry. She’s normally in school, but they had pipes bursts and there’s water everywhere and my roommate has to work so she can’t watch her. I don’t have a babysitter and I just found out this morning. She will be very good and you won’t even know she’s here I promise.” Megan said with a rush.

This was the worst thing that could have happened. She knew it would be impossible to hide Lola from Kathy, and realistically she knew that Deborah was bound to find out, but she was hoping it would be closer to the end of the day and she could have proven that Lola wasn’t a distraction to her work.

“Schools tend to have that issue, especially if they are older. The winter causes the pipes to freeze and then they burst when it gets warmer out. Lola, I could really use a little helper today. Do you think you could help me?”

“I’m a good helper.” Lola said, as she stood up on her sturdy little legs.

“You look like a good helper. Come on, let’s see what fun we can have.” Deborah said with a smile, as she held her hand out for Lola to take.

Lola quickly went over and placed her tiny hand in Deborah’s and they headed out of Megan’s office and over to her own. Megan couldn’t help but stand there, confused. She had no idea what the hell had just happened. To begin with, she had never seen Deborah have anything that resembled a smile on her face. She thought her face would break if she actually cracked a smile. Now she had just taken Lola to her office to hang out. She didn’t give Megan any trouble about having brought her child in to work with her. Megan knew that Deborah was a teacher, but she taught teenagers and not kindergarteners. There was a difference in teenagers and a little five year old girl and yet Deborah didn’t even hesitate to steal her away. Megan let out yet another sigh. There wasn’t anything she could do about it right now. At least she still had a job, at least she thought she still had a job. Deborah could be waiting until tonight to fire her. That was something she could worry about later. Currently, she had a long list of things she needed to complete if she was ever going to get out of here on time with Lola. Putting her worry aside, she picked up the list and got to work.

  6

Deborah sat in her office with Lola sitting in a chair right beside her at her desk. When she had walked into Megan’s office that morning, the very last thing she ever expected to see was this beautiful little girl hiding behind a desk. Deborah knew she was cold on the outside. She knew that she came across as someone who didn’t care about other people. But, she really did love children. She had always wanted to have children, but her ex-wife had zero tolerance for children. She loved to have the house perfectly clean and organized. She loved being able to go out to fancy restaurants and on vacations whenever she wanted. To her, she couldn’t do any of that if they had a child. Then it would have to be family friendly restaurants and vacations. To her that wasn’t romantic and that wasn’t a life she wanted. So Deborah settled for not having children, even though she desperately wanted one. She had even tried to bring up the option of adoption for an older child. One that would still be young enough to bond with them, but old enough that they wouldn’t lose sleep every night over or have to deal with changing diapers. Her ex-wife still wouldn’t budge and ultimately it was one of the many reasons things ended between them.

She never expected Megan to have a child. She didn’t seem like the type to have a child, and yet when Deborah thought about it it did make sense. Why she was always late in the morning. Why she seemed to have lower quality of clothing. Why she looked exhausted every day. She was busy raising a five year old child and the fact that she didn’t mention having Lola’s father watch her today, she was clearly doing it on her own. Deborah could understand why Megan would hide having a child and being a single parent. She didn’t know first hand, but she had friends that were single parents when they were younger and they often got passed over for jobs they were qualified for because of it. So Deborah didn’t blame Megan for keeping this a secret. She knew it wasn't a reflection of how much she cared and loved Lola, but more so she would be considered equal when applying for a job.

Deborah and Lola were working on some simple math problems that Deborah had created for her. Lola was a very bright little girl that was very curious about everything. That was what Deborah loved about young children, they were always curious. In her early years of teaching Deborah had worked in the primary grades. Most teachers, especially in this school, hated being stuck in the younger grades, especially kindergarten and grade one. To Deborah though, they were the best eight years of her life. She loved being in a room surrounded by hyper five year olds running around, because to her, that was real teaching. It was pure curiosity and excitement to learn. Deborah became a teacher so she could show children how amazing learning could be. She wanted to unlock all of that curiosity and watch it come to life. It was something she missed greatly since making the switch to this school. Working with teenagers was different. They didn’t tend to ask why, but rather just copy down what was written and memorized it. They were more focused on what the future would be and what grades they needed to get into the University they wanted. Their curiosity was gone and it was a real shame. Getting to spend the day with Lola was a dream come true to Deborah.

“Very good Lola. You are a very smart little girl.” Deborah said with a warm smile as Lola was able to answer all of the math questions.

“Thank you.” Lola said with a giggle.

  “Do you like your school?”

“It’s ok.” Lola said with a small shrug.

“Just ok? Why just ok? What about it do you not like?”

“Ms Wilson, she is always busy and it’s not very fun.”

“Not very fun, well that’s not good. Why isn’t it very fun?”

Deborah was very interested in learning more from this little girl. She always thought that learning should be fun for kids, especially in the younger grades. They needed that fun so they would enjoy
school and want to go every day.

“It’s boring sometimes. We sit and write our letters or we sit and Ms Wilson reads to us. We go outside, we have snack, we have lunch, then we do numbers. Same thing every day. Boring.”

“That does sound boring. What about art? Do you make anything?”

“Sometimes, but never for fun. Mommy and me do it for fun.” Lola said with a smile.

“Do you? What kind of art do you do?”

“We make a big mess in the living room or kitchen. We get paint everywhere. Or we make slime.” Lola said with a massive toothy smile. It was clear that she loved being creative and getting her hands dirty.

“Slime eh? You know, I’ve never made slime before. Is it hard?” Deborah said, with a warm smile. She was truly enjoying spending the time talking with Lola.

“Super easy, just three things. Mommy even gets food color and we make it rainbow.”

“Oh rainbow, that sounds very pretty. Do you make sticky slime?”

“Ya and fluffy. They look like clouds.”

“Maybe you could show me one day how to make it.”

“I can do that!” Lola said very excited to teach someone something.

Deborah couldn’t believe how adorable this little girl was. She could tell that she was Megan’s daughter. They looked identical with the exception of Lola’s skin being mocha like Deborah herself and her hair and eyes dark and not pale and blonde like Megan. She had that same charm, beautiful eyes, big smile and messy hair as her mom. Deborah couldn’t help but wonder where Lola’s dad was and if he wasn't in the picture, then why wasn’t he?

“So it’s just you and your mom?” Deborah asked, trying to see what she could get out of the little cutie.

  “And Amber.”

  “Who is Amber?”
